For example, the large EV bus launched by RAC consumes about 1.3 kwh of electricity per kilometer of travel, and the current electricity price is about 2.02 NTD per kilowatt hour (90% off peak +10% high peak), and the cost per kilometer is 2.62 NTD; diesel-powered vehicles can travel about 2.4 kilometers per liter of oil, and the current oil price is 32 NTD / liter, which means the cost per kilometer is 13.33 yuan.

Ministry of Transportation would subsidize Highway public transport Electric bus in competitive Route (new route) up to NTD$ 5.2 million per vehicle, for old bus replacements up to NTD$3.85 million, and for Class B bus up to NTD$2.5 million. In addition, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs would subsidize 40-49% of the batteries, charging station equipment, operating and other supporting programs, which can be applied for subsidies separately.

What are the Government's established policies and guidance on promoting new energy vehicle like electric buses?

(1)It is the government's policy to provide subsidy scheme for electric vehicles, including the pilot program of intelligent electric vehicles. The main objectives of promoting alternative energy are environmental protection, energy saving, and carbon footprint reduction, which consist of nature of forecasting, experimenting, and risking to overtake the traditional way of doing things.
